 CDS BIPIN RAWAT DIES OF A HELICOPTER CRASH



 Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat dies due to a helicopter crash with 12 others that includes his wife. They were carried by an Indian Air Force helicopter. The crash took place in Ooty of Tamil Nadu, the crash took place at about 12:20 PM on 8th December 2021, the reason behind the crash of the helicopter is not clear but according to some official sources, the accident may have taken place because of foggy conditions over there. 

WHO WERE TRAVELLING BY HELICOPTER

 Besides CDS Rawat, the passengers includes his wife Madhulika Rawat, Brigadier LS Lidder, Lieutenant Colonel Harjinder Singh, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitender Kumar, Naik Vivek Kumar, Naik B Sai Teja, and Havaldar Satpal. Wing Commander Prithvi Singh Chauhan was flying the helicopter. Four other crew members were traveling along. Group captain Varun Singh SC is the only survivor of the crash and is getting treatment for the injuries that he has got 

WHAT IS THE CHIEF OF DEFENSE STAFF OF INDIA?

 Chief of Defense Staff is the highest-ranked officer of the Military, which is reported by all the three armies (The Indian Army, The Indian Navy, and The Indian Air Force). The CDS reports to the Ministry of Defense. It was held by Bipin Rawat from 1st January 2020 till 8th December 2021. Bipin Rawat’s contribution to the Indian army is unforgettable. 

He will always be remembered and will stay in our hearts forever.

    We will never forget his rich contribution for our nation... especially against China, from 1987 Sino-Indian skirmish till 2020 Galwan clash!!!

CIRCULATION OF Rs. 2000 NOTES TO BE STOPPED: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

Yesterday  The Reserve Bank of India announced that the circulation of 2000 rupee notes will be stopped  but 2000 rupee notes will continue to be legal tender .  RBI has advised people to deposit the notes in their bank accounts or exchange them for other currency notes at any bank branch. One can exchange ten notes of Rs. 2000 (i.e. Rs. 20000) at once. The  exchange facility to exchange the notes will start on 23rd May and will continue till 30th September 2023 . 19 regional offices of RBI (that will also have issue departments) will be acting as exchange points till the end of September . Deposits in the banks can be made in the usual manner. The RBI has asked the banks to stop issuing Rs. 2000 notes with immediate effect. The  circulation of 2000 rupee notes will be stopped but they will remain legal tender even after the withdrawal date so people can continue using them for transactions and accept them as payment.
