In 2012 a committee was set up to recommend alternatives to the present building by the former speaker Meira Kumar. The current building which is a 93 years old building is assumed to have unavailability of sufficient space for the house members and their staff. CIRCULATION OF Rs. 2000 NOTES TO BE STOPPED: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

Yesterday  The Reserve Bank of India announced that the circulation of 2000 rupee notes will be stopped  but 2000 rupee notes will continue to be legal tender .  RBI has advised people to deposit the notes in their bank accounts or exchange them for other currency notes at any bank branch. One can exchange ten notes of Rs. 2000 (i.e. Rs. 20000) at once. The  exchange facility to exchange the notes will start on 23rd May and will continue till 30th September 2023 . 19 regional offices of RBI (that will also have issue departments) will be acting as exchange points till the end of September . Deposits in the banks can be made in the usual manner. The RBI has asked the banks to stop issuing Rs. 2000 notes with immediate effect. The  circulation of 2000 rupee notes will be stopped but they will remain legal tender even after the withdrawal date so people can continue using them for transactions and accept them as payment. BABA HARBHAJAN SINGH: THE SOLDIER ON DUTY EVEN ATER HIS DEATH

Santosh Babu martyred during the Indo-China conflict in the year 2020, Vikram Batra martyred the Kargil War in the year 1999 but do you know about a soldier who served the Indian army even after his death “Baba” Harbhajan Singh was born on 30th August 1946 in the Sadrana village (Now in Pakistan), served the Indian army from 1965-1968. He completed his primary education from a village school, then he completed his further studies at DAV high school in the city of Patti in the state of Punjab.  In March 1965, he joined the Punjab regiment of the Indian Army.  HIS DEATH AND INCIDENTS AFTER IT  On 4th October 1968 at the age of 22, he died when he was passing by Nathu La, some say he died between Tukula and Dengshuka.   CDS BIPIN RAWAT DIES OF A HELICOPTER CRASH  Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat dies due to a helicopter crash with 12 others that includes his wife. They were carried by an Indian Air Force helicopter. The crash took place in Ooty of Tamil Nadu, the crash took place at about 12:20 PM on 8th December 2021, the reason behind the crash of the helicopter is not clear but according to some official sources, the accident may have taken place because of foggy conditions over there.  WHO WERE TRAVELLING BY HELICOPTER  Besides CDS Rawat, the passengers includes his wife Madhulika Rawat, Brigadier LS Lidder, Lieutenant Colonel Harjinder Singh, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitender Kumar, Naik Vivek Kumar, Naik B Sai Teja, and Havaldar Satpal.   POTTI SRIRAMULU: THE FIGHTER FOR ANDHRA Many freedom fighters fought for the freedom of India and lost their lives. But one of them fought after the freedom of India, for the statehood of Andhra Pradesh, popularly known as “Amarjeevi”. Potti Sreeramulu or “Amarjeevi” was born on 16th March 1901 in the Madras presidency of the British era. His parents were Guravayya and Mahalakshamma. He completed his school in Chennai and later went to Mumbai for his higher studies. He worked for the Great Indian Peninsular Railway.  In 1929 when he was 25, he lost his wife and newborn child, he resigned from his job and went to Sabarmati Ashram.   CONTRIBUTION TO THE INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT Sreeramulu also participated in the independence revolt of India.   DADA SAHEB PHALKE AWARD : A NATIONAL FILM AWARD Dhundiraj Govind Phalke or Dada Saheb Phalke born in 1870 and died in 1944.He was a director, producer, and screenwriter. He made 95 films and 26 short films during his whole career. He began his career as a photographer in Godhra located in Gujarat and later he worked at Archeological Survey of India as a draftsman. The Indian film industry kicked off with a film made in the year 1913 named Raja Harishchandra and it was made by Dada Saheb Phalke.
