BABA HARBHAJAN SINGH: THE SOLDIER ON DUTY EVEN ATER HIS DEATH

INTRODUCTION




You would know about B. Santosh Babu martyred during the Indo-China conflict in the year 2020, Vikram Batra martyred the Kargil War in the year 1999 but do you know about a soldier who served the Indian army even after his death “Baba” Harbhajan Singh was born on 30th August 1946 in the Sadrana village (Now in Pakistan), served the Indian army from 1965-1968. He completed his primary education from a village school, then he completed his further studies at DAV high school in the city of Patti in the state of Punjab. In March 1965, he joined the Punjab regiment of the Indian Army. 

HIS DEATH AND INCIDENTS AFTER IT 

On 4th October 1968 at the age of 22, he died when he was passing by Nathu La, some say he died between Tukula and Dengshuka. After his death, his dead body was missing for 2 days. It is said that he came in one of his collogue soldier’s dreams and told him the location of his dead body. You would be shocked to know that Baba Harbhajan’s body was exactly at the location that he told to his collogue. 

It is believed that Harbhajan gives all the information about the dangers of the Chinese army to the Indian army. At the meetings of Indo-Chinese, he is given a separate chair it is believed that Harbhajan also attends the meetings.

THE BABA HARBHAJAN SINGH TEMPLE

There is a temple located between the Nathu La and the Jelep La dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh called the “Baba Harbhajan Singh temple” nowadays it has become a tourist place.
